See, I had many many vices that lead me to where I am at today. I am having a hard time trying to keep my mind occupied. I want to eat. I want to smoke.

Now I love to read my comics or binge watch shows on netflix but still some times it gets to me.

What does everyone else do for fun?

I quilt, sew, knit. Right now I'm knitting mittens and scarves for the childrens & youth shelter in our town. The side benefit of needlecrafts is that when I have needle and thread in my hands, I can't have food or snacks in my hands. LOL. I belong to the local quilt group and we meet monthly to work on quilt projects. I volunteer one day a week at the local library - it's just shelving books but it gets me out of the home and all that bending and stretching is good exercise. In the warmer months, my husband and I play golf once a week. Plus we both target shoot. You could call any of your local charity groups (animal shelter, soup kitchen, etc) and see if they need volunteers. I've found that not only does volunteering help the charity but the feeling of helping others is good for me too.

Funny you should ask LOL.
-I make and sell jewelry, I taught myself how to make paper beads and am going to spend the winter learning how to make cold porcelan
-I am an avid reader and have over 100 books on my tablet. I downloaded the kindle app. I still have a box of books to read
-I collect music so I have a ton of CD that I have bought
-I collect movies on DVD and will never need Netflix or Hulu. Have enough cable channels to watch
-I am Vice President of my community association
-I am President of the Police Community Relations Council for the police district where I live and work closely with the officers in my district. I help them with community events, I attend some of their inservice classes, to name a few
-I am a Commissioner for the Civilian Review Board and was sworn in by the Mayor this past September
-I play all kinds of games on Facebook and in Pogo.com
-I edit and write articles for our community newsletter
-I attend 3-4 meetings a month
-I write safety tips to distribute at meetings
-I do Citizen on Patrol training using the manual I wrote with a former police sgt.
-I get invited to all kinds of political receptions

Do I get bored? Yes but then I go make some jewelry and watch tv while I am doing that. I am often tired because I am always busy with something.

Thank you.

My wife was an avid pogo-er. I work a lot and also have four kids, So its not so much that my life is slow by any means its just those little holes now are surprisingly void now, and loud. The things that you listed are great. We to try and be crafty with things. My wife and I didn't come from broken homes just ones that didn't do much together so we always try and makes sure we do thing as a family as much as we can. Simple things like making sure to eat dinner as a family or bored games, your music is my bored games I love games in general. I think my thing at the moment is the laying in bed part. My stomach is growling because I am eating less again and my mind is racing because I havent smoked for about a week now. I know it all takes time, right?

Thank you so much for sharing it was nice to have a reply.

I love board games. My sister and I have every board game our parents gave us as kids with all the pieces. I also love jigsaw puzzles especially during the winter months. Why not find a hobby just for you.

Get up out of bed, it is doing nothing for you. There are tons of things you can be doing to occupy your mind and get back into focus. Life is short. Do you want it to pass you by laying around in bed?
