So I forgot to mention that after seeing my doctor and diabetic counselor, my doctor told me I should get a liver ultrasound because she thinks it's bad and is the cause to not processing sugar well. I am sooo stressed!!! I used to drink a lot but after being notified I have diabetes and shouldn't drink, I haven't. I was told to fast like you do for a blood test before I go in. *sighs*. I do not want to take more meds.

My diabetic counselor advised me that my body is still not handling insulin well and made my take 12 dosages instead of 10 and that the doctor said I should take insulin medication (gilipzode or something) and if it doesn't work, I have to do insulin each time I eat… I was also prescribed medication to get my periods and started taking chantix just today. So far I am taking 6 pills overall.

Thank you! And yes I got my results. They said my liver is good, but have a little bit of a fatty liver and some good healthy eating and weight loss will help.

Hi, That's great news, that everything is good with your liver. Can be nerve racking for the test to come back. Glad everything worked out

Yes, two years ago when my gall bladder was removed. Since had liver biopsy. Scary, huh, thinking another organ! Today I got a call from GI to schedule a fasting ultrasound of liver due to remaining high liver enzymes on yesterday's CBC and CMP. I don't know why they are still so high. I also have metabolic syndrome (prediabetic) so my numbers have been whacky. Last visit he advised me not to wig out about my numbers (A1C, ALT, TSH, etc) and to "concentrate on the big picture"!!!! Would this advice help you?

Great Dagger, Actually I'm not sick but take many pills to help the body reheal. I was shot in Vietnam which tore up a leg but I can handle that. As a State Police Officer I was shot several times breaking up a rape by 3 men that escaped from prison raping two little girls. they were murders & rapist & facing life so they were ready to kill. I was alone on duty as a Commander just by chance driving through an alley at night time. I had to shoot & kill 2 & a third got me several times. I'm on COPS for bravery but it wasn't that big… of a deal. I know that many cops would have done the same. Bye Tom

Perhaps once you get things going, you can start dropping some of the meds. I know Chantix is not forever and once you find a good treatment for your diabetes you can often work at things in your diet and exercise routine to help reduce or get off meds. It kind of depends on how bad you want it and how well your body cooperates.
