Metformin Dreams

Anyone have bad dreams after starting Metformin? 2x/day 500mg. Started 11/22/13. Dreams started about 2 weeks after.

The only other medication I take is Flexeril, and I've been taking that for years.

This is become very unsettling. But, I feel a little silly calling the doctor just because I'm having bad dreams. It's working in all other ways.

Maybe the FLEXERIL is causing bad dreams again. Last couple of weeks my back has been hurting more than usual so I've been taking one at bedtime hoping to alleviate waking to stiffness. Hope it isnt liver or kidneys. I buy Tylenol Arthritis 650mg because of long lasting formulation. Just learned Medicaid covering 500mg Acetiminophen now but only 500mg, shoot.

Yes. Felt like I was going through Menopause again, flopping from one side to the other, hot flashes, sweating was restless. Changing to ER formula has helped.

It's interesting how meds affect people differently. Flexeril does nothing to me except I wake up feeling not as sore. I sometimes even take a couple.

I don't have bad dreams, but I have a lot of strange dreams that I recall in the mornings. I never associated them with Metformin though. Just my overactive brain.

I just started same dose Metformin about 6 weeks ago. I take occasional Vicadin, 1/2 tab, for Artritis. I have been getting so sick that I just take aspirin now and not the pain pill. Metformin can alter everything for a while. Yuck! Bad dreams could sure be one of them!

They give me FLEXERIL for pain and after more than one day become stupid until it leaves my body. Metformin ER is much easier on my body than regular which caused me pain. I wonder why they can't cover my Arthritis Tylenol that costs me about $10 a month instead.

I have never had bad dreams with metformin. Flexeril is a whole different story. That stuff puts me to sleep and when I am awake, I am so drowsy I can't function. I can't take that even if it is a low dose.

That's me too Joyce. I have 3 compressed discs in my back and the Dr always says Flexeril, but unless it's to the point I cannot function, I will not take
