That will be the menu next year when I get to do the cooking. The FIL did the cooking this year and lets just say everything had at least 2-3 cups of sugar in it. I was good though, I brought some hard boiled eggs for my appetizer and for dinner I fixed a large helping of turkey, a tiny smidgen of stuffing and some mixed greens. The rest I drooled over and told myself my health is more important than my taste buds. The really hard part is going to be when the chocolate chess pies come out the oven in a few minutes lol. Maybe just a teensy bite off the hubby's plate :)

When I got under very good control, my doctor gave me a free day. I use that day on Sundays and if there is a holiday that week, I save it for the day of the holiday. Today was my free day. I ate some of everything but mainly stuck with meats and veggies. I can have my sugar free pie for dinner.

With all the diabetics in the family, we don't cook specifically for the diabetics. We make dishes everyone can enjoy. The diabetics decide what they are going to eat because there are a lot of people who aren't diabetic and we want everyone to enjoy the meal.
