I have a family history of diabetes (father was T1, mother was T2 diet controlled). I have been having problems with extreme tiredness, sweats, and blurry/double vision after meals. My doctor said I may be pre-diabetic and to start testing especially at times when I don't feel right. I feel "off" at anything over 100 and by 140 I feel like I've been given a sleeping pill and cannot stay awake. Is it normal for me to feel off at these levels? I'm also struggling with my diet. My doctor recommended a low carb diet but then told me I need to gain weight. I've struggled gaining weight my whole life and cutting carbs has dropped me from 95lbs to 85lbs in one month.

I'm glad you're working with your doctor, and you might ask for a referral to a dietitian who is also a diabetes educator to help you figure out how to best eat to control blood sugar as well as gain weight. ~Lynn @Glucerna
