I am 34 and have one child. I was diagnosed at 17. I currently treat with an insulin pump, and I am not very compliant. I have a major sweet tooth to the point I really have no self control. I was wondering if it might be in my best interest to get the lap-band. I am very interested in this procedure. I am miserable with my current weight. I am 5 foot 2 and weigh 170-173. I am miserable!!!!!

170? That's almost nothing compared to 320 which is what I weigh. I also have a bigger sweet tooth all my teeth are sweet and nearly gone I have 6 left. I'm sorryif that sounded harsh but I see a lot of people who are not overweight and have diabetes who I think shouldn't. Its obvious I don't know much about diabetes yet. But I wish you the best of luck.

You can do it and it’s not as hard as you think. Most of it is in your head, and once you find the right tricks, it comes off pretty easily. Usually just a lot of habits that need to be broken. Compared to some of us, you don’t have all that much to lose either. There is always someone here who is losing weight, maybe team up with them? Hang around and you’ll find a few.

Hey Susan, I was in your shoes a few months ago and with the help of Nick here, I have been turning things around. I have a lot more weight to loose than you do, and while my old doctor just gave up on me and said I should do the surgery, I never did. I'm glad I didn't. I know you can do it. Like Nick said, some bad habits have to be broken and sometimes you just need a pal to push you in the right direction.

Try Skinny Fiber!! It's been a lifesaver for me! Takes away all my cravings!!! Find someone who sells it. Message me if you want to get it from my friend. It's the only thing that's worked for me!

I don't think you weigh enough to qualify for weight loss surgeries. I think you'd appreciate the weight loss more if you did EVERYTHING in your power to do it on your own first!! It's hard, but it can be done. Work on managing your diabetes & your sweet tooth!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!
