With it being November and not only diabetes awareness month, but also the month of Thanksgiving. So I challenge each of you to sit down for a minute and think of something that you are thankful for. Perhaps it has to do with your diabetes, and maybe not. There is always a positive side of things we just have to choose to take that perspective.

So I will start us off… I am thankful for family that supports me in my diabetes care. I know that they love me because they care about my health just as much as I do. They want me around as long as possible and so do I. I want to see my children grow up and be able to play with them and teach them. I want to grow old with my husband. So today I am thankful for them.

I'm thankful for the simple things. i get up in the morning on the green side of the grass. Everything else is simply gravy.

I'm thankful for the many treatment options available today. While the cure is still 5-10 years away, just like it was in '87, there are enough treatment options available, that I don't feel like I have an adequate excuse to be in poor health
