I have discovered a great way to eat less with out surgery or pills. This is so cool. Eat foods with a high water content. Apples, strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes, kiwis, melons, etc. This and a glass of water, and I feel very full. Low on carbs too!

I like to eat beans a lot, salads, grilled chicken, fruit but always with some food that has protein and fiber. I try to eat oatmeal or a high fiber cereal every morning sometimes with slices of fruit in it. One thing I love to cook a lot, is taco soup. You can put any kind of veggies you want in it, mostly beans, some people put in corn and the corn doesn't bother me so I use that and diced tomatoes. I brown some lean ground beef, drain, and open up all the cans and put in an envelope of taco seasoning mix, sometimes also adding a pkg. of powdered ranch dressing mix. Just boil for a while and then simmer. I like to add a can of black beans, a can of kidney beans, sometimes two cans of each if I am feeding lots of people, and one can of corn, two cans of diced tomatoes and of course, adding water and cooking it to your liking, to keep it soupy or thicker.

Thanks for the information. I will have to try this myself. My sugar levels have been a little elevated in the mornings and I am trying to get it down. I think that this will help me to lose some weight also.

These are great! If you add some chia seeds to your water or drink, or toss them in your salad, you will get extra fiber (that full feeling) and some omega to boot.

Yes Gabby, I try to eat foods with fiber. It stays with you longer and makes you feel fuller. I eat oatmeal in the mornings, rice cakes for snacks, and beans(I love Lima) and it all makes you feel fuller. I also can eat a big salad with lots of veggies and feel full, I have trained myself to eat and feel full without feeling deprived. It is all about experimenting and finding what is right for you.

Yes that is so true. I eat a lot of salad and beans also. Can't do the rice cakes, but I have other tricks. And that is what it is all about. Tricking my tummy into telling my brain I'm done.
Actually I also found that as I eat foods that are nutrient rich my body has less cravings for bad stuff because it is getting what it needs. When I eat crapy foods, that is when I generate more cravings, and it usually for more crappy food...so break the cycle. Eat healthier and fill up on fiber!

That is so true Gabby. The better I eat the less cravings for bad stuff and the better I feel. It has also helped my neuropathy in my feet.

This sounds good to me, DonnaAnn. Everything that you listed I like. After these past two days of cooking for my sons who came to visit, I am looking forward to finding some foods I can just eat without cooking. Happy Holidays!

I can enjoy this type of feeling full fast now a days. But when I did dialysis, it was a big no-no. I was only allowed to consume so much water a day, and the vegetables and fruit are so high in potastium we were allowed those either. But now being off dialysis, and having my transplant. I am going to try this new healthy approach of eating, still but in moderation though…Debe
