Hi, My husband has been really tired all day, and really cold… He also has been urinating just as fast as he takes it in practically, but is really thirsty at the same time… I made Dinner, and he ate that and then laid back down… He was complaining about having to go to the bathroom all day, and I asked if he took his Metformin and he said No… So I took his blood sugar level on our meter, and it read 519!!!! I went and got his metformin and had him take it, but should I take him to the E.R.???? What else can be done to lower the Sugars in his body?

It sounds life he's going into DKA..he definitely needs to go to the ER because this is deadly and can send you in a coma. I had it right before getting diagnosed and I lefy it for a long time…when I finally went into the ER my blood sugar was in the 1500s, worst thing I ever went through!

My Dr. said "GO" if I was over 400.
