I have recently had the flu and no longer am sick. But during my sickness I noticed my tongue is stained orange. It is not anything I am eating or drinking. I can scrub it off with my toothbrush but it takes a long time and comes back within a few hours. Has anyone had this or know what it is?

Did you have really high blood sugars? Maybe it's ketones! haha. That happened to me before..but it was more white not orange.

Interesting info. It seems to come on after dental work or sickness. It apparently can take a long time to get rid of it. Definitely read the info at medhelp. since it is a bacteria, I wonder if you rinsed with an antiseptic mouthwash once your scrubbed it, if it would stay away longer.

Okay, goggle orange tongue. I think the site is medhelp. It is caysed by a bacteria produced by our body. I didn't read anymore. I was so excited to know you were not completely nuts that I want you to see it. Jim

Hello TM, have you been licking pumpkins lately? I have no idea. Can't wait to see who does. So, after you scrub it clean, can you hold your mouth open for a few hours? If you do that and it comes back, then you know it is coming from within your tongue and not from your body. hey, I am grasping at whatever straw I can!
