I would like to speak with someone regarding Necrobiosis Lipoidica Diabeticorum. I almost lost my legs year and this Necrobiosis Lipoidica Diabeticorum has taking a toll on me. I have no answers, no doctors can understand it, some never even heard of NLD. I have been seeing an amazing wound care doctor yet still I am his first NLD patient. I am going have vein ambulation? I think that is what it's called (burning of the veins in my lower legs). I had a vein ultrasound done and well my veins are not normal and not pumping good blood. Long story short they're going to burn by veins and hope to have good blood pumping b/c I am not getting any good circulation. Therefore my wounds aren't healing properly. Only good news I have lost 67 pounds since November 2012 at least I am 6'0 tall, lol. This has become overwhelming and stressful.

I have had NLD for over 15 years now. I have had several outbreaks of ulcers and a couple of surgeries. Still have it on both legs and over the years it has grown from ankle to about 6" below the knees. I also belong to NLD support group under Google. Iam also type 2 diabetic

I have NLD. I was diagnosed with Diabetes and 2 years after that my Dad dropped a hammer on my leg. It developed into NLD. It's is on my lower front shin. It is very sensitive and very sore if I bump it. Don't have any problems with it. It just does not look very nice. There is apparently nothing you can do to make it better. It's a build up of nerves I guess caused by nerve damage. I did got to a Dr and he said all he could do was inject cortisone into it to see if that would help. I could not face having a needle go into it as it is very sensitive and sore. Have you found out anything more about it?

Wow, I had never heard of this until I googled it just now. I am sorry that you are suffering from it, it doesn't look like fun at all. I hope you are able to find some relief.
