What is the best app you can use for monitoring your glucose on your ipad and iphone? One that does not cost an arm and a leg. I have used Glucose Buddy, and it is nice, but it does not work on the ipad. So I was wondering what everyone else liked to use so I can check those out.

Hi Amanda. I've had type 1 since I was 3 also. I'm now almost 60. Taking good care is key to your survival. Your diabetes is nothing to be ashamed of. It just happens. I have no other diabetes in my family. You have to take care of yourself if for no other reason than to see your kids grow up. Mine are now 22 and 24

Hi Munday, I just started using Glooko. The app is free, but you have to purchase the cable ($39) to plug/sync your glucose meter to your smart phone. So far I love it! You can find out more at

My net diary is very expensive. Never found my sugr. But I am checking out the log book on diabetes connect. It sure is nice. Can't believe I didn't see that before!

Thanks everyone! You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for your replies! I am going to go and check out both apps right now!! I use glucose buddy on my phone and like it. But it dont work on my ipad. But your apps sound great! So I have to study those lol. I use this site and its app. But it is still kind of confusing to me. I have to be able to record things quickly at work. So this is hard then. Also… Munday is my last name. :) And I completely understand about penny pinching! I struggle each month to survive financially. And I fear it getting worse with this shutdown.

I've had type 1 Juvenal diabetes since age 3 I'm now 26. I feel like I'm gonna loose my life to this disease. I keep it extremely confidential. I don't want to be known as the girl with diabetes, I just want to be known as Amanda. I have a 1 and 2 year old who are my everything and thank god they are healthy. I do not take care of myself and live my life as if I never had diabetes. But it's taking a toll on my body. I don't go to an endocrinologist bc I HATE talking about it. Only a hand full of people know. Am I the ONLY one who feels this way?! I'm interested in getting a pancreas transplant… My mom sent me this link this is the 1st time ever posting anything like this on a website. I don't want to be made fun of or laughed at since I had a nasty childhood of nasty kids who teased me. I'm embarrassed to post this, I just want to know I'm not alone.

Hey Amanda, I think we've all felt like this at times, but, and I mean this is the nicest way, are you insane? I avoided talking about it, managing it, doing anything. And then my eyes went to hell. They fixed one and the other may work someday if science miracles something together. I had my eyes fixed just enough to see my son in his senior year of HS. You need to make sure that when your kids get to high school, it's not with some wicked step mother. A kidney/pancreas would be hugely beneficial, but those last for about ten years, if you can match up and they don't really give them to people that aren't trying to maintain. There are are pumps and sensors and all kinds of treatment options. It can be overwhelming, but don't let some creeps from your childhood ruin the rest of your life and take time away from you and your kids.

I use the app from Diabetic Connect to record BG and a1c's - the app works good but may not offer as much as others. I will look into My Net Diary and mySugr. Thanks for this post!

Hi Munday! Cute name! I use mySugr, it's free, use it on my iPhone , you can upgrade, but free part is good for me. I can report my bld sugars, carbs, when & which insulin I'm taking. Take pics of my meals, which is limited, you have to pay to take more pics, but I just give quick description of my meals. You get "points" for any info you enter. You can show your iPhone 2 ur doc. Again if you want a print out, I think they will ask U to upgrade, but Im watching pennies. I really like it! Good luck honey!
