Can I still scuba dive ? Does diabetes cause Bell's palsy ?

I checked into diving a few years ago and the YMCA has or had a pretty good program. Not sure about the Bell's palsy, but they had a good routine down for insulin dependant diabetics and underwater kits dealing with hypos underwater

Doesn’t cause it but diabetics are more susceptible. Are we talking temporary bell’s? The severity I think would dictate how limited you are. If the mouth is involved, I’d think the regulator mouthpiece would pose a seal problem. I have a small ergo mouthpiece for my snorkel and I’d have to wrap a rubber band around my lips to seal that or go back to the old “orange slice” mouthpiece with the huge flange that covered the teeth and gums. Might want to check the rim of the mask too for any spots where skin you might not feel gets wrinkled and could get irritated. Full face mask is an option too.
Oh, and welcome to the group!
