For Type 1 diabetics only:

How many of you wear medical alert jewelry? If yes, what kind?

I got a bracelet and chucked my pendent that I wore under my clothing. My lowest BG was 23 and I didn't pass out. But, you never know…

I was reading a story about medical alert jewelry. The article said that pendents worn under one's clothing is not a good idea because it cannot be easily seen and often missed by police, etc. I've been wearing a pendent under my clothing. I just ordered a bracelet.

I wear a bracelet, I find it easier to wear it more often on wrist and not want to switch it out because I don't normally wear bracelets.

I bought a diabetic alert tag and made a bracelet. I also saw that they have stickers for the car. I think that's probably a good idea. I'm thinking about getting a medical alert tattoo.

I have a bracelet I wear every day. It's really simple- silver link bracelet with a charm ingrates with the med symbol and "insulin dependent" on the back.

I have a Medic Alert pendant but only wear it when I am traveling…probably not the wisest thing to do. I also carry a wallet ID with a notice of my diabetes and doctor.
