Ovo-Lacto vegetarianism is a vegetarian who does not eat animal flesh of any kind, but consumes dairy and egg products. I am hoping to meet other vegetarians and get some ideas from them about how they deal with being diabetic & a vegetarian.

I am a Type 2 diabetic, have been for 30 yrs. I am wanting to become a vegetarian too. What is Ovo-lacto? I have no idea where to go for guidance on being a vegetarian with diabetes. I take 5 shots of insulin a day and have to be pretty strict with my diet. It's gotten hard for me to eat meat knowing it means the slaughter of animals. But I must stay as healthy as I can. I hope there are some of you out there who can give me somewhere to go for info and help.
