I have both Type 1 diabetes and Rhuematoid Arthritis. I never seem to have any energy, currently I do not have my diabetes under good control at all and i'm having alot of RA flair ups what I am wondering is how much of an effect do the two conditions have on each other? Also I am looking for tips on exercising with Diabetes and RA and all the pain, I gained quite a bit of weight after I was diagnosed with the RA, due to the inactivity I guess. I would really like to lose 50 pounds or more and start to control my blood sugars better again. Right now I wake up and all I look forward to is when I can go back to bed. I feel very pathetic and tired all the time lately.

I also have more then one auto-immune diseases, I have diabetes, psoriatic arthritis and myasthenia gravis. the best exercises my doctors have given me is to exercise in a pool. The water takes the weight off your joints. If you swim that is great, if not there are a lot of exercises you can do in a pool. Check with your doctor, I bet he/she will agree.
