I myself and my brother who both suffer from type 1 diabetes. Find if we have a fever, lack of sleep or any kind of illness sometimes even a headache.
It makes the insulin stop working. Almost like 90% resistance, as soon as we take ibuprofen or paracetamol we're back to normal for 3-4 hours.
Does anyone else suffer from this?

I have always been told that insulin requirements increase when you are sick and being sick makes your sugars higher. I was admitted to hospital when i was sick with a chest infection, not for the infection but because my sugars shot up and had ketones. You may need to increase your doses slightly and test more frequently when you are sick.

Yes, I am not sure what it is but my blood sugar levels are always off when I am sick. I have heard before, but I don't recall what causes it.
