I came across this slide show of things we should all avoid during the holidays. It is not diabetic specific, just things that are generally not healthy for anyone.
Check it out at webMD:

This was a great discussion! Isn't it fun to just laugh about what we have to avoid. These slide show articles are so easy and fun. Nothing like pictures to show us the way. I sure hope nobody eats too much milk chocolate done with Splenda. A gas attack will come on quickly and that might really be funny at a party. rofl

OK, I can be fine without the turkey skin, mixed drinks, and many of the others. But did they really have to point out how unhealthy stuffing is? And egg nog?

Great, now I have holiday guilt :-)

You know you can make a very healthy diabetic stuffing with brown rice instead of cornbread or bread. Just a suggestion.

Sorry John...I know how you feel. My weakness is the milk chocolate. I found if I just put a little egg nog in my coffee, then I am satisfied. It was kind of mean of me wasn't it. LOL

Yummy, never thought of that Gabby. Egg nog in coffee. You know they have a creamer this time of year flavored with egg nog, too many calories and sugar for me. I like your idea better.

You can make homemade egg nog also with any of the sugar substitutes. If you use low-fat milk and even some egg beaters, you might just have a friendly nog.

I added an egg nog recipee the other day here in recipees it can be found under the title Elegant Eggnog

ooh, you just made my day; for years, I only allowed myself a quart of eggnog around the holidays, and I have never allowed myself ice cream. But, do I really have to give up my egg nog? lol
Thanks for the video Gabby, I have already changed my choice of dinner foods.

John, no one really likes eggnog anyway do they? YUK!! LOL

Thanks Gabby, you left the choice of food for my holiday of just water. No strike that, I just read the reviews and it says. that water isn't good anymore either. Oh well, I guess I will be sucking up air. I bet within the next couple of months will have to pay for that too…Debe

LOL! I read that too. Dang! Everything is bad for everyone. What are we to do? Live a little then I say.

Funny that you wrote that about water, Debe. When I was at doctor yesterday I told him I was concerned that I had not been drinking my 64 oz of liquid a day and he said actually if i could get in about 40 oz a day that would be good enough for me. I can easily do that. I have 2 cups of coffee in the morning and a big glass of tea all day till dinner and then another big glass of tea. so that is well over 40. I was concerned about getting dehydrated again because of my stomach problems.
