It seems like there is no such thing as a “diabetic diet” anymore. Most of us follow a form of a Low GI (Glycemic Index) or Paleo type diet. In fact Gabby recently posted an article about how folks on Paleo style diets see better results than those following ADA guidelines. It’s sure true for me.
Of course there are other studies that say just the opposite – which, if taken to the extreme the diet isn’t great.
Because all of us have such different lifestyle and “degrees of diabetes”, the old school, one-size-fits-all diabetic diet just doesn’t seem to work.
Sarah Fragoso’s books have some good recipes, but I tend to just wing-it myself

I have been trying to do some of this and it really seems to be helping my numbers. That is always my overall goal, so that works for me. We are not 100% there, but I think if I transition us over, the family won't notice so much and it won't be such a fight. LOL

That's good that you see some results. Have you found meal planning and prep to be a little easier since you're actually working with fewer ingredients?
Fragoso's books might interest you - they're not what i would call strict Paleo, but she does use almond flour which i guess would be "paleo" for those of middle east or south asia descent.
