I had to go to the doctor today because I have been having stomach problems. And we are ruling out things one by one. One that was mentioned was diabetic autonomic neuropathy, which affects the digestive system. I already have severe neuropathy in my feet. Does anyone else have this? and what are you taking or what treatment are you using? I also had some blood work for my liver, plus a stool specimen. And after the holidays I am having a colonoscopy. Unless blood or specimen shows something. Any advice or suggestion would be greatly appreciaited. Thank you.

Just an update on my tests for stomach problems. Stool sample and blood work came back as normal. So Doctor and I are puzzled, so I am going to go see a gastro doctor in January and see what tests he wants to run. It seems to have no rhyme or reason. The diarhea hits just anytime during the day whether I eat or drink. I asked him about the stomach emptying test and he wants to see what the gastro doc has planned. LOL. Oh goody I can just imagine those tests.

I am going to do some research on it and see what it says. My doctor mentioned it but I do not have pain just the diarhea, so he kind of ruled it out. I am going to see if you can have it with no pain.

Unfortunately, there are all kinds of problems connected with the stomache and diabetes? It would help us to know how long you have been dealing with this, and what exactly you are feeling or how it is reacting to your body.. I would like to offer more than that as advice
but at this point all I can say is I hope you can get this mystery solved as soon as possible and start feeling better. Claudia

Well I did not want to be too graphic but for about 3 weeks now I have had diarhea very bad. So much so I had to go to the hospital for dehydration. So now all the tests have started. But it is not food related because I can not eat and have to run to the bathroom. So we will see. Any more suggestions or advice. I am documenting everything I do, eat or times I take my meds.

Have you had any new medications; more dairy products, anything like that? I also know that there is a very serious virus that started in England and has recently hit the US. Along with it are low fever, dehydration. You should really check into this, I just saw on news yesterday, and it can be dangerous; so please question this. I would hope that you get your answer soon; I well know what IV fluids, and nasal feedings are like and it is not fun. Good luck, let us know how you do? Hope you feel better soon. luv:->)Claudia; concerned friend.

You might want to have a stomach empty empting test. You eat radio active food. Then they watch your esphagus and stomach empty. It wouldn't hurt to see if you are have gastroparessis (paralized stomach). I hope that you will find out what is going on and that it will not be serious.

That was next after the colonoscopy, if that did not show anything. Thanks for the reply.
