I would like to apologize to all the great connections I have made here on Connect. I have stayed away way too long. I've hit a bit of depression and frustraion. Not only about my diabetes and hypothyroid, but life itself. I am working on these. But that is now excuse to ignore my support team. I am back and hope to get things back under control. As of 2 days ago, I am no longer a vegetarian. It got really hard picking the right fruits and tracking calories. So I gave up for a bit. Not being to exercise like I used to or being very tired all the time is frustrating as well.

I hope to reconnect with all of you!!!!

Hugs,
Robin

Don't be sorry. I am just frustrated with my life. Nothing seems to be going well. I think it all hit the fan when I had to put my 16 yr old yorkie down in July. She was my mom's dog and now I have no family at all. Just don't want to be here anymore, if that makes sense.

Hey Robin,

Great to see you. And I am glad to hear you are taking steps to work on yourself. Support is power! I hope you are taking good care of yourself, including getting some help with that depression and frustration. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

Thank you Gary. I am basically depressed because of how fat I am and feel so unattractive. This picture is from 2006, when I thought being 135 lbs was fat. Geesh, I'll take that right now for sure, LOL. I'm not depressed enough to end things, if you know what I mean, but maybe I shouldn't have used that word. But it's the only one that came to mind. Really frustrated would be more accurate. I think if I work with a dietician this can get better. There isn't much more they can do with my back problems. But I think losing the weight will help with that. Thanks so much Gary. Will keep you posted. Hope you are well.

Hi Robin,

I would also encourage you to talk to your doctor and to your dietician about the depression, and the frustration. Let them know how this has been affecting your emotions. Getting a diet plan in place can help you to feel more in control. .

But you might also want to consider talking to a counselor to kind of talk out what's going on with you, to get some perspective, and to learn some new ways to cope. I always take the word "depression" very seriously, and so I encourage you to talk to a professional.

And I hope you will keep us posted. You are not alone.

Gary

Thank you for your concern Gary. I am already on anti-depressants since 1996. I believe I misused this word and should have just stuck with frustrated. I started a higher dosage of my thyroid medication today so we will see if this helps. I see my doctor on the 21st and I definitely will talk to him. Believe me, I hold nothing back and always speak my mind. I may sit down with a dietician too.

Thank you so much. I love the interaction. And I know I'm not alone in this fight. I will definitely keep you posted.

Robin

Thank you byrun. It's good to be back and I need to be here, more than I thought. Seems I hit a wall and can't figure out what to even put in my mouth anymore. I do a 1200 calorie diet on MyFitnessPal.com. It tracks everything when I put in what I've consumed. All I've had so far is 2 cups of black coffee, 6 dried apricots and an oikos greek yogurt and I am over my sugar count by 10, according to them. It's not even lunch time or dinner time yet. Yikes!!! Thanks again..

Dry fruit isnt the best options i was told as it has concentrated sugars, but im not expert, so maybe look into that, and also if you are not eating enough your sugars will rise, wb to the forum, i am a newbie myself :)
