I guess you had to way back to find my story, but then my diagnosis goes way back to 1945. Lol! I have since written a book about my first 64 years with diabetes, and added many pictures and new chapters too. It was published in March, 2010.

Someone asked where my story was located. I found it and brought it to the forefront.

I am currently rewriting my story. I am adding a lot of new material and many pictures. It will be finished in a few months. I will try and have it published but I don;t expect much success. I have been told publishers are not interested in autobiographies unless they are written by famous people. They want to sell lots of coptes and make a profit.

Thanks so much Richard. I am up to date on all the ones you've posted so far. I am happy to share these with my diabetic support group. This is so fun and encouraging to me. You made me want to continue doing my story, but I have only 46 years under my belt…Debe

The first 14 chapters are posted. There are 5 more chapters remaining. This the most convenient thread for viewing all the chapters in one place.

Am so happy you did this, I even mentioned it in some of my discussions and wanted more. now you set it up so we can read it. I still want to know, is this a book or just your personal life being donated to us. Cause if it isn't published, it should be. luv:->lilmarm

Richard, How long did it take you to write. I have been writing on and off for the past 5 years. I know I should of been done by now. But things happened at that time in my life. I started dialysis and was so sick and weak I put it on hold. After my transplant I spent 5 months in a hospital and rehabilitation hospital so again put on hold. I just want you to know you inspired me to go back and finish it. I will get all my stuff back out after the holidays, so I can keep trap and won't lose anything during the holiday cleaning. I only have 46 years of diabetes behind me as of now. Hopefully when I have 61 years maybe my book will be done too. Thanks so much for the inspiration again…Debe

Debe, friends on my home site asked me to tell my story early this year. I wrote 20 chapters over a 2-3 month period. I then posted it on seven diabetes sites. The owner of my home site edited the story and published it online as an ebook there in the type 1 forum.
