My doctor, recently, told me, that I can try going off my medications. When I tried going off, my numbers went up to as high as 150 to 221. What is considered to be appropriate readings again? I had to go back on a oral medication, I was afraid it was to high. Glad to have any feed backs, I know you are not all doctors. I am a type 2 diabetes.

I ended up allergic to pill form diabetic pills. Got put on insulin. I wish I could go by diet alone, but 13 years is to long. With blood sugar ranges the highest shouldn't be over 200. Good luck with your new regiment. Always remember when in doubt test to make sure and I would still count carbs to be safe

70-130 is the ADA recommendation. BUT the real measure is your A1c. You can have a few high numbers and still maintain a good overall balance.
I couldn't tolerate Metformin, so my doctor reluctantly allowed me to not take it (with much the same numbers as yours) provided my A1c dropped by a point by my next visit.
