Well, I had my blood draw last week. Today, I was able to see my results, But I do not go in to see my Doc until Wednesday. Grrrr… My fasting BS was at 123.7. My A1C was at 6.6. Those numbers are a wee bit high from what I think they should be. My LDL cholesterol was also a bit high at 117.8. My good cholesterol was at a 47 and my total cholesterol levels were at 177. My fasting BS was reallllllllllly close to being diabetic, so Im pretty sure my doctor is going to want me to keep checking my sugars and such. I ran out of test strips so I am waiting until Wednesday to ask her for a new prescription and I need to ask her if I need to replace my meter at all, which I doubt since Ive only had it 9 months.

Overall, I guess I'm not that disappointed at my results ( I knew my sugar was going to be a little high), but I know I have a lot of work to do to get my bad cholesterol down, my good chol.up, and to also work on lowering that A1C to a lower level.

Well, any suggestions or input on where I should begin? I dont see my doctor until wenesday, but its never too early to start building a list of things to do to get my health in order.

Ask your doctor to write a prescription
For you to take classes on nutrition
Usually at your local hospital
Working there with a nutritionist is the best thing you ever do!
They will teach you about carbs
Set you up with Meal plan
Lots of support there!
Best of luck
