With the economy being as bad as it is. People getting laid off or hours cut. Having less money to buy things we need. How is everyone doing? I know when money has been tight I have neglected taking or filling certain prescritions because I felt the money could be spent on something else. Is anyone feeling the need to cut back on their medications to save money? I started this discussion so we could feel free to talk about our worries now and in the New Year. One of my prescriptions has a high co pay and right now I cannot afford it so I am going to call the doctor Monday to see if he has samples or can prescribe something At Wal Mart for 4 dollars. Anyone else feeling the medication crunch.

My husband has really good insurance. We get all our meds at Kroger, my husband works for Kroger and so do I. I get on prescription for $4. Kroger has a $4 list also, just like Walmart.

i also have switched all my precriptions to wal-mart. i am concerned not only for myself, but for the well-being of those on a very limited income.

I, too, go to Wal Mart for my prescriptions. I also have the Medco Prescription Plan that I was able to get because I am on Medicare and Medicaid disibility. It really helps. I take so many meds it isn't funny. Also, my dr, when possible, will give me samples so I don't have to buy the meds.

I find December to always be very stressful. We are fortunate enough to have a flexible spending plan at work. But that money is use it or lose it. And so I have to make sure that I'm ordering supplies just right so that I use the money I've set aside for it. Then I have to try to calculate exactly what we're going to need for the coming year and that gets so complicated it makes my head spin.

Then as you said, when you layer on top of that the downturn in the economy, it just makes everything feel less certain.

But I do love the holiday season and really try not to let stress ruin my celebration.

We are a little tight here as well, but the one thing I will not cut back on are my meds…I need them to live. We will go with out some else before cutting back on them. I know how hard it is for people everywhere, my daughter just got her hours cut back to four days a week, for a while. Things are not looking good right now and it is very scary. I have been looking for a job now for the last six month and can find nothing in my area.
