Been there, done that…wait, what am I saying? I'm STILL there, and I'm STILL doing that! Well, I was, until I rejoined this site. There are so many supportive people here, and it helps to know you're not alone in this. I ended up in the hospital last year, with an A1C of 13.5! Its down to 11 now, and still going down. I hate testing, but its the only way to know what my average blood sugar levels are on a daily basis. I walk when they get too high, and drink lots of water to help me feel full. I hate feeling hungry, but I hate how I feel when my BSLs are too high even more. So as one diabetes-disease hater to another, welcome aboard! Good luck, and please keep me posted. I care! :)

I'm in the same boat. I've been a diabetic for 26 yrs now and for the past 13 yrs I'm.still trying to.learn how to manage myself better (mom did one heck if a job with my sugars til she passed). On my good days I'll remember to check more than once and when grocery shopping for all non-diabetics in my home I try to buy them things that I don't like or aren't to tempting ahold when I get the need to snack its something.healthy or close to it (doesn't always work) lol And lately I've been thinking about starting to see a nutritionist and finding local diabetic classes because I freak when my sugar goes low and highly irritated when it goes high.

Hello anonymous
You know there's things in life we just must do
As much as we hate it as much as we dislike it and not enjoy it sometimes we just have to do it
Take control you feel better
Support will be here for you
I'm learning daily myself

I understand what you mean. My a1c is about a 9 right now. For about three years I really just stopped taking care of myself. It wasn't until my doctor threatened to take away my insulin pump did I wise up. It's really though, but once you start taking care of yourself you'll start to feel so much more healthy.
If you need someone to talk to, message me anytime :) I understand.
