They say that with diabetes type 2 that you need to exersize but i have degenrative disk disease and can not exersize like everbody else so trying to do so just makes my back worse so i was wondering if anybody can think of any workout that would not make my back worse.

Thank you,

This may sound a little funny, but scuba diving is a way of exercising without pain. In the water, you are weightless. I know you have the tank and the waves and all of these other items, you have your friends take these down to the water for you, and you put them on in the water. I realize this means you're going to have to learn to scuba dive first. But it is Worth it! I am able to work out regularly getting a really good workout in my legs I can do more things with my arms and because I am weightless in the water the tank And the added weight that you need for diving you do not feel therefore you're not going to be getting any pain or cramps from that. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding this.

That’s not a bad thought. Now that I remember, before my surgery the best nearly pain free exercise I got was when we were snorkeling. The pain part came in when we had to get back in the boat.
Maybe some time at a local pool with some training/swim fins like this might be the ticket (not to mention fun).

Do you know what disks are most affected right now? That can make a difference in what exercises would be beneficial.
I recently had a discectomy and fusion to correct my DD. When mine got bad, I could only walk on a treadmill which has a bit of rebound/cushion to it and not on hard or concrete surfaces.
I’m a strong advocate of chiropractic care to relieve some of the pain associated with DD where possible. Has the possibility of getting the bad areas repaired come up?

I also have the same trouble withy back and I have found if you can walk a lil and then rest a little bit then you will do your back a favor by moving and I know it hurts but that's how I did it plus I lost about 80 + lbs.
