The bottoms of my feet have been dry & cracked lately to where it hurts to walk. My sister suggested I try Pinterest for any home remedies, but after looking thru a couple complicated ones I suddenly remember I'm on THIS site & would do better with people who are dealing with the same. After reading thru some search topics & different brand names to try; I decided to stick with the one that has worked best for me (even if its $10 I sometimes can't afford) Heel-tastic!!! My feet are doing so much better in 2 days

I use Noxzema, I rub this all over my feet and then I wipe it off with a warm wet wash cloth. I do this every night. I find it very refreshing and comforting. Noxzema is real cheap too. I get it from Walmart for couple of dollars.
Hope you find something that works for ya…:)

I use Shea cream 100% pure no perfumes. I've had it so long since it goes a long way ordered from eBay for about $10 Joyce suggested it. Works like a charm!

I used to use balms and stuff, but now I just use coconut oil. Granted, my feet are no longer cracked. So to maintain what I have, I use just plain old coconut oil and rub it on at night or before putting socks on during the day. It works like a charm and is a LOT less expensive than the specialty creams and balms.

Hi Lisa. I'm new to this board but i'm NOT new to cracked heels, as I wear sandals all summer long. My son, when he was an infant, had dry skin so badly it was bleeding. Obviously I took him to the pediatrician, who recommended, of all things, solid Crisco shortening. My son is now 16 years old and we're both STILL avid users of crisco. I actually use it every day on most parts of my body. I've recommended it to countless others, many of whom are now believers/users. (Petroleum Jelly is a sealant, not an oil moisturizer, and is therefore not a good remedy for dry, cracked skin. Its an acceptable application for keeping soft skin soft.) However, you would use the crisco the same as vaseline; that is, apply it liberally on your feet and put on some lightweight socks overnight. A little bit in the morning after the shower works great too and does not adversely affect your shoes and/or feet. :)

My sister also told me to try crisco but I can't stand the feel of grease LoL (OCD & compulsive hand washer) I will try it if my feet get too bad :)

People in general have odd reactions to using crisco, but its just vegetable oil. I'm sorry about the OCD… people have told me I'm borderline OCD and I'm pretty sure they're joking. I have a friend with true OCD and its a difficult thing. It sounds like you've found something that is working so far, so happy dance! Thank you for the reply and the smiley face. haha, smiling is a good thing, yes? :)

My doctor suggested mixing mineral oil and petroleum jelly, place on feet, wrap (put on socks). And in the morning your feet feel like a baby's bottom.

I'm happy for you ,I to go thru this from time to time.
Now I use a heal stone one time a week in the tub after letting my feet soak for five to ten minuets ,works great and I have to get a new stone a year .
They are .99 to 8.00 each
Best wishes
