Haven't been on in awhile and I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I do have a question… My #'s were coming down good and the other day I fell on our boat and banged myself up pretty good.. nothing is broken but my sugar has shot back up to 300.. does this happen if you get hurt?

Hops has a point to the stress and less exercise. But it could also be from your body repairing its self. Just like when you get sick your sugars will spike, or when you get your womanly monthly visit your sugars will spike a bit. I can't tell you why it happens, I'm not a doctor lol. But I've been a T1 for almost 12 years and every time I get sick or hurt or my period, my sugar spike for a few days. I personally just check myself more and up my insulin a tad for thoughts days. Good luck, and hope you feel better.

The fall is stressful. When injured by a fall the injured person often stops exercising. You end up with the double whammy of stress raising your sugars and lack of exercise keeping your blood sugars high. When I am hurt I exercise lying down by raising my legs in the air and moving my legs as if I am peddling a bicycle. Five to ten minutes of such bicycling helps me keep my sugars in better control on days I am unable to walk out of doors.
