Really finding difficult to continue to be motivated. That applies to sticking to rigid dietary restrictions, binges of eating sweet stuff and not bothering to follow blood sugars even.
In a way still learning to live happily with reality of living a diabetic life.
Getting into dont care sort of attitude. Feeling doesn't matter if I eat sweets, chocolates. It will be fine even if I eat everything. Enjoy, life is too unpredictable. There are others who are diabetics and continue to ignore dietary restrictions, they seem ok so I will be fine ad well.

What keeps me motivated is that I want to keep all of my toes, both legs, all of my fingers and my vision. Life is meant to be unpredictable simply because no one can predict what tomorrow will bring or even if tomorrow will arrive.

Just because diabetics ignore their dietary restrictions does not mean they are ok. You don't know what medical problems they are having because of this. You can assume that you will be fine. You are convincing yourself that you will be fine so that you can have an excuse to ignore your dietary restrictions. Who will you blame or whose fault will it be when your organs become effected or you start losing limbs? What excuse will you use?

You have fallen into the trap of letting diabetes control your life instead of controlling your diabetes. No one said you could not have a special treat when
your numbers are really good.

I really think that if you don't focus on doing better with your diet otherwise your next post will be I haven't taken care of myself, what do I do? Far to often some people allow themselves to fall into ruts they have created because they don't want to do what they know they should be doing. Once they create the problem they also expect others to pull them out of the rut.

You can still be happy and healthy by eating a healthy diet. You can still have fun and enjoy life if you choose to do so. Only you can make that decision. Good luck to you.

I hear ya…tend to feel that way more and more the older I get. Very tired of trying to play by the rules and still feel lousy; makes me wonder "what's the point?"

Thanks for sharing your thoughts which tell me I am not the only one who goes through and is going through these phases of thought and behaviour.
