I received the ReliOne At Home A1C test kit free from my points on the Healthy Outcomes website and got my results today. My A1C was 5.8!! Yippee!
The last one in August was 6.8 and this new one is with all the stress of biopsies, two surgeries in a month and a boring 6 week recovery with no exercise. I'm so excited!
I see the doctor in February for the official one there so we'll see how that compares. I looked on the ReliOne website and they are only $9.00 and that includes the lab and they got back to me via email in 5 days from when I mailed it like they said they would. They give you a secure site to get your report from and you can print it off for your records or save it to your computer. These kits are also available at Walmart and Sam's club and I'm sure the price is similar to the online price. So for those that don't have insurance or a doctor right now, this is a good way to keep on track!!! 5.8?? I'm still gushing over this!! LOL

Nice work, Judy and Gabby!

And that's good to know about the home A1c test kit. Pretty affordable option for those without good access to doctors. I can't believe what the lab fees are when my son gets his blood work and that's with insurance!

I really think that this is a valuable post for all of us. I am interested to see if anyone else has tried this test and if anyone's doctor is accepting the results that have been obtained. Thanks!

Hey Ms Determination,
I got my results this morning and I was so shocked! I was expecting an 8-10 and when it opened up and revealed a 7.6, well, you know I was dancing!! I realize it is still up there, and I have work to do. But that was without meds. Just a lot of good old fashioned hard work. Boy does it pay off! So we will see what the next one reveals. Now I am not so afraid of it.

Thanks for the ifomation. I just had a physical(blood work) but it's nice to know I can get it without a doctor.

Oooo, Oooo, that is just fantastic! Incredible how it is low with all you have been thru! That is so great! Shows too that your stress levels are in good control also, and that is harder than sugar pills for stress! LOL

I should be getting mine tomrrow then I hope. We will see. I know it is going to be very high, but at least it will show me the progress I make now that I am finally on some meds.

My mom had thought about using it instead of getting it done at the doctors' office, but he won't accept anything that is done outside his lab, even if it is accurate.

thanks for the info. I just ordered mine through the same place you got yours. Can't wait for it to arrive. It seems so handy to be able to do a blood test at home. Hugs

I would be interested to know how it will compare with the labs at the doctors. How close it will be.
They charge alot for my labs at the doctors. If it was accurate and youi could print for the doctor that would save us money.
