Reggie I have been on meds years ago that made it hard to lose weight while I was on them prior to being diagnosed with diabetes. I gave up trying

I am only on one medication now. Even though I lost a lot of weight, there were .periods where I was losing and gaining it back. Like Nick said I adjusted what I was eating and counted every calorie and carb and am back on track. Weight loss is different for everyone and many things can affect how you lose weight. You have to remain diligent and persevere. If you lose 40 and gain 10, I simply cut back on calories and carbs. Some people will have periods of loosing and gaining and I think that is normal. I was loosing a lot of weight but felt hungry some days, I simply ate something high in fiber to help reduce the hunger feelings. good luck to you

When I was working, I walked a lot in the office, I walk around the block because I want the fresh air and to talk to my neighbors and because I ate dinner. The walk is relaxing and I can sleep better.

People over eat for any number of reasons. Some know what they are doing is wrong and either can't control their eating or don't care.

Hey Reggie, welcome to the group.
I’m not sure what meds you’re on (except maybe steroids) that would prevent you from losing weight if you really wanted to. It can be done, but it takes some discipline.
For me the key was all in my head. I had to decide if what I was eating was necessary for me or was I just eating it out of habit or plain old desire. Once I learned just how few calories I burned during the day, and just how many I was eating, it was pretty clear that a lot of what I was eating just wasn’t necessary. I set my daily limits and said “this is all I’m eating today” and stuck to it (well, as best I could at first). It took a while, but eventually I got to the point where I had to say “oh, I better eat soon”.

oh thank you so much, yes you are so right it is in my head. No steroids! I love food. I need to get it in my head to watch portions & carbs. Thank you so much for your input.
