Hey giraffe,

Great to see you here. I am glad you found your way to us.

You mentioned the word "depressed" in your post. I am a therapist so that word is a red flag for me. Depression and diabetes can often go together. So if you are feeling depressed, I really encourage you to reach out to a mental health professional. Your doctor can be the starting place if you don't have other mental health resources. Let him/her know how you have been feeling and ask for a recommendation. If you have health insurance, you may be able to connect with a mental health professional through their provider list.

It's important to have emotional support when you are living with a chronic condition. Do you have people in your life that you can sit down and talk with about what's going on with you, who can listen without trying to tell you what to do? Support is part of good self-care.

I hope you will stay in touch with us, my friend. You are not alone!

I wasnt diagnosed until i had already lost weight. Was diganosed t2 and was furious. Couldnt accept after all the hard work i had t2! Demanded endo and more test found out t1. Furious again but it is what is is and not because of anything we do or dont do. I still use the product twice a day and maintain better glucose control with it than i do with knife fork food. Not to mention the quality is so much better than what we have available grocery wise. Nutritional depletion is crazy in our foods today. I practice nutritional replenishment!

Losing weight is so darn hard. I have been doing this start/stop plan where every week you eliminate one unhealthy food and "replace" it with something positive. It has been pretty cool.

Welcome giraffe320! I'm glad to hear that you're starting to feel better. You said your diagnosis changed from type 2 diabetes to type 2 diabetes this year? How has that changed your treatment plan?
