This weekend several of our employees here at Diabetic Connect (or Alliance Health Networks) will be riding in, or volunteering for, our local Tour De Cure event! The Tour De Cure is a bicycling event put on by the American Diabetes Association (http://tour.diabetes.org/site/PageServer?page...). The riders raise donations starting with a minimum of $150 to ride in the event. We are happy to say that all of our riders quickly raised the minimum to ride, and then some thanks to their generous sponsors (a lot of friends and family)! All proceeds go to the American Diabetes Association to help fund research, education, and advocacy. We hope that you will help us cheer on our team mates and co-workers as we get ready for this exciting event!

Have you ever participated in the Tour De Cure event in your area either as a rider or volunteer? We'd love to hear about you experience so our team mates can be better prepared for this weekend!

I have a total knee replacement that does not work. My leg is straight, even though I have had two joint manipulation surgeries to try to break it free with no success! Then the doctor put me in a Total Leg Cast for 6 weeks to straighten the leg as it was slightly bent and causing back problems. I wish I could participate in the Tour De Cure event! I cannot ride a Bike, but could volunteer! This weekend I will be involved with RELAY FOR LIFE (for American Cancer Society). I have raised donations of $130.00 so far and plan to stay the night through, walking, remembering those who have died and celebrating those who are survivors! My Sister is a Survivor of Breast Cancer. I have also walked two Susan G Komen Race for the Cure events in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas several years ago prior to my knee replacement. Maybe I will check in to volunteering at the American Diabetes Association event as a volunteer in the future. Thank you for letting me know!
