Okay. So my father-in-law has diabetes and neuropathy that has set in as a result. He is unable to work, but to young for Medicare and to old for Medicaid. I am trying to get him on disability, but in the mean time need help with getting him supplies. Any suggestions on where to turn for help?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Also, keep in mind, medicare and medicaid will pay bills aquired 3 months prior to the date applied for. so if you tell people you applied for help, they may be able to confirm status and give you what you need. Just a thought; hope that is nelpful. Claudia

Try getting in touch with some of the companies that make the supplies or medicines. I was able to get some free supplies this way. I also accessed Access RX and PPA (Partnership for Prescription Assistance). This one is sponsored by Montel Williams.

There is a very helpful discussion at: http://www.diabeticconnect.com/discussions/1831?last_viewed_at=2008-12-11+22%3A18%3A19+UTC
This helped me find my way to a clinic where I can actually afford to get in to see a doctor. The links are helpful, and one is sorted by state, so you can get information for where you live.

Also, I believe that Medicaid is by income, not age, so you might want to recheck that.

Yes I to think medicaid has not age limit. I think they have a Medicare Assure which is medicare with Medicaid included. I think my Aunt is on it…Debe

I am only 56 and am on disability. I get Medicare and Medicaid. My prescription company is MedCo. I made a post (below) of where I got prescriptions before I got my insurance.
