I am type 2 and I just want to say good for you. My a1c is so high I get depressed in trying to get it down. I commend you in your progress. Just stay on the meds like anonymous says. Let the doctor take you off. He may decrease the dosage since you are doing so well. Congratulation.

my husband has type 2 diabetes, he did the same thing. thought that since he was under control, he would quit meds. after awhile everything came back. the meds hadn't gotten out of his system, but when they did his sugar came back up. he learned that he must stay on his med. really hard on the system when the sugar fluctuates.
