Hi friends, i am a type 2 diabetic and i am constantly drinking. My blood glucose levels are good.

I drink a boat load of water daily as well as vegetable juice, almond milk and club soda. I like to have variety. I also drink 2 cups of caffienated coffee daily.

I buy my drinks to last me a full week and then drink them all within one or two days.

I am worried about this and my family tell me i need to look for some help with this.

Does anybody here go through this? Could this be a diabetic issue?

I really need to find some answers. Thanks if you can help.

Check the side effects of meds you are on. Also, switch to decaf if possible also (caffeine dries one out also). Of course check with your doc, but remember you also get "water" from foods you eat like citrus fruits, lettuces, etc. Ask the doc to also check your lipid panel (he knows what that means) to include your potassium and sodium level to make sure that is ok. Could be there is not enough "hydration" with your food too. Plus, sometimes people confuse thirst with hungry and vice versa. You can also add things like all fruit Popsicle, lemonades or teas (easy on the sugar) etc. that quenches the ole thirst too in a good way besides boring water. I am a CNA, phlebotomist (vampire) and just finished my EKG course . . that's another reason I know a lot about this stuff (nerd - plus dealing with a diabetic Mommy - may she RIP) . .Good luck! :)

You should call your doctor and discuss the problem with him. You need a diagnosis from a professional. Your problem could be caused by a number of things. Diabetes is not one size fits all. Therefore, if someone here has the problem the treatment they receive may not be helpful for you. Please contact your doctor as soon as possible and have your problem addressed. Good luck to you.

Have you discussed this with your Doctors nurse? I take different medications and some of them dry me out immensely. I drink a lot all day and while for some it seems like a lot for me it's what my body needs. As long as you are urinating right a long with your fluid intake it should be fine. Just pay attention to the calorie counts of your drinks.
