Hello to all! Been busy lately and feeling overwhelmed! I go see my therapist today and boy am I glad! So much has been happening I don't know how to wrap my head around everything! So to start off I applied to college but had trouble with my highschool transcripts. Got that finally figured out but still no reply yet. :( I had an interview for a at the beginning of May and thought for sure that I failed at it, but sure enough, last Friday I got a call saying I got the job! :) I start next week. Also in a week is my 19th birthday. Been planing this for a while. On June 10th I finally get to go to my adult Diabetic clinic and June 17th is my last one in pediatrics. My house is crammed lately. Not only is there My parents and I living here but we also have my brother, his girlfriend, there almost 15 month old son AND my brothers girlfriends sister! I need my space and nobody seems to understand that! GAH! I hope things wind down soon. I am not good at dealing with stress. Anyways I just wanted to know from you guys. How do you guys try to relax during stressing and overwhelming times? :)

I'm sure that you know that in addition to all that you're experiencing, many people with diabetes suffer from fatigue. I hope you find peace and rest soon.

In your case, you might just need a get a way spot. Lots of people in your house. Take a walk. Don't get mad and storm out. That will add to the tension. Walking is great for diabetis. Tell your parents how the "crowd" is affecting you and that stress isn't good for your diabetes and that sometimes you just need to walk it off. Btw, cudos for your brother standing by his girlfriend and your parents being there for them. Assure your parents you aren't angry you just need to walk. Take your cell phone or iPod (but be very aware of your surroundings) if you have two ear buds in.

Happy week before your birthday!!
I certainly understand stress. I'm getting better at dealing with my form of stress. I've learned to ignore it & let go. It's the best I can do!!
I'd be unhappy with a house full of people, too. Do you own the home or is it your parents' home? That makes a difference. If its your home, you can control who's living with you. Or at least request some privacy. If its your parents home, they have control. But you can ask for privacy. Do you have your own room? Make it your sanctuary. You can hang a sign on your do that says: " please do not disturb until (time). Thanks! " ask family & guests to respect your quiet time.
Hope this helps some.
