Hi everybody, I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Casey and my 2yo daughter has T1D that was just diagnosed last Thursday after she went into DKA. We are just learning the ropes of everything involved and I'm really hoping to establish outside support from people that are dealing with T1D as well. So, that's everything in a nutshell, I hope to be as involved with discussions as I can. Thanks for being here!

Welcome Casey. I've been a T1D since 2007 after having my pancreas removed at age 47 and started on a pump in 2008. I've had my diabetes assist dog, Ebony since 2009. I've found some great blogs in the Diabetic Online Community (otherwise known as the DOC). My favorites are Texting My Pancreas ( and Our Diabetic Life ( Texting My Pancreas has an awesome list of other diabetes blogs down the left side. Kim is a terrific writer and can find humor in some of the things that happen in a diabetic life. She also heads up the You Can Do This Project, where people can make videos of their experiences and provide encouragement for others This Our Diabetic Life is written by a woman with four boys - three with T1D. I hope you can find something that is meaningful to you. I welcome any questions you might have.

Hey Casey! My name is Sophie and I am a T1D for 21 years now. I got the disease when I was 11. I was using syringes but just recently got on the pump and CGM, and love it! Welcome, and feel free to ask any questions!

Hey Casey, I am 26 and a T1 like your daughter. I know there is so much to learn in the beginning, it can be overwhelming! Hang in there. Know that it gets easier! I'm here if you have any questions or need anything.
