I have a problem in the mornings. I cannot eat breakfast right after I get up because it makes me nauseous. So, I need something I can take to work and eat, that doesn't involve cooking. It also needs to last for a while because my lunch break isn't until about 5 hours later. I'm getting frustrated trying to balance low sugar, high protein, high fiber, low carb, low fat, good tasting food and end up usually making bad choices. Add to that I am not staying in my own home at the present time so cooking in general is a little difficult. Any suggestions?

I have tried the greek yogurts and found them to be too tart for my taste. Then I was disappointed that John Stamos wasn't in my kitchen when I finished it…lol

Stop worrying about being in anyone's way and eat a healthy breakfast. In our work kitchen someone would be making toast, someone coffee, someone else at the microwave, and someone else fixing a bowl of cold cereal. In the mean time it was a fun gathering before work.

I do that too. Try some cereal. I eat Honey Nut Cheerios a lot. They taste good and control my appetite. I try to keep a few boxes at my office. :)

When I was working, we had a kitchen with a microwave and a fridge. What some of us would do is bring Cream Cheese, Cottage Cheese, serving size applesauce or fruit cups and leave them in our lunch bags. I would keep crackers and snacks in a plastic air tight container in my office. Some of my coworkers would bring instant oat meal. One of my coworkers would chop onions and green peppers, steam or saute them the night before and drain them. She would put them in a microwave container and in the morning crack an egg in them and scramble with chopped fried bacon and microwave it in the morning at work.

Some mornings I would have Tuscan Herb Crackers slathered with cream cheese, and coffee. I would have the applesauce for a snack. I would also cook sausage or bacon the night before and boil eggs . When I got to work, I would join the microwave line zap it the bacon or sausage to have with the eggs. I also took sugar free jello pudding or jello for mid morning snack.

Have you considered a mid morning snack? You can now buy Peanut Butter cups with crackers which you can keep at your desk. I would take baby carrots with a low fat, low sugar dressing, Fritos, or pretzels. I would measure these out. The key is finding healthy foods that is portable.

I have been eating a lot of low sugar instant oatmeal, but that gets old after a while. Never thought of nuking eggs with bacon or sausage…that's a good idea. Thanks.

I have a NuWave Oven. I bake everything including bacon and sausage. I fry eggs in Pam. I will buy a piece of fried chicken if I want it. My microwave is an extra cabinet it stores boxes of cereal and my sisters cookies perfectly. We never use it for cooking.
