Hope all of you are doing well:). And enjoying the nice weather my question is what is your view on sugar free candy?

In diabetes class, they told us in moderation and told us about the laxative effect and gas. I have had gas when eating a little too much sugar free ice cream before. I occasionally have had some SF chocolate, some of it is really good. just have to be careful with all of it/

Besides the laxative effect, eating too much of the sugar-free stuff may give you lots of gas. It's best to limit yourself with anything having sugar-alcohols (sorbitol, maltitol etc) Instead of the sugar-free chocolates, which I don't find taste as good as the real stuff, I'll occasionally indulge in one square of really good quality (Lindt or Ghiradelli) dark chocolate and may top it off with a spoonful of all natural peanut butter…I like it lots better than a Reeses PB cup!

Sugar free candy contains sugar alcohol so you still have to watch how much you eat. Like Kathi said they can also be a laxative. Depending on my numbers, I eat the mini versions of the real thing but I only eat one.
