Jethro Kloss details the value of lemons in his book, "Back to Eden." He describes how lemons prevent sepsis, or bacteria buildup, in the body. They are also anti-scorbutic, a term referring to their ability to prevent disease and to help purify the body of impurities. In her book, "You Are What You Eat," Dr. Gillian McKeith states, "A warm cup of water first thing in the morning (and even better with a squeeze of lemon) goes right through the bowels and cleans mucus out from the day before. Drink another cup in the evening too."

My wife suggested the lemon drink with a dash of Tabasco. Tried it for a month & I didn't notice a thing! But then I haven't had a soda for over a year & I notice only one difference, I have more change in my pocket.

I didn't learn this until recently. I am Type 2 and ended up with a large kidney stone. I had surgery to remove it a little over a week ago. The recovery is very painful. My urologist advised me that drinking lemon juice (I add Stevia) stops kidney stones from forming. My insurance company paid over $40,000 for this surgery and anesthesiology. I'm drinking a dollar or two in lemon juice each day.

I know that not everyone is subject to getting stones, but you don't know who you are unless you get one (or already had one). There are no symptoms or diagnostic tests…until after the fact.

Lemon juice is a tart and acidic juice that is often used in cooking. But squeezed into drinking water, added to foods or used in tea, it provides antioxidants and supplies the body with vitamin C and other nutrients. Lemon juice is also effective for skin care and to alleviate pain.
Vitamin C and Calcium
