Sugar vs Artificial Sweeteners in our Drinks

I have been a T2 diabetic for 11 years and I still have a problem giving up the regular fully sweetened coca~cola (hanging head with shame). What are some things that you all as a community have learned to consume as daily fluids that may help me to curb my bad habit? I detest artificial sweeteners.

First, stand up straight, second, take a deep breath, read the nutriton label then throw away. Would you let your kids drink it? We all have to make decisions. You have to make yours. Good health, or crappy health.The choice is yours.Drinking full sugar coke you have never let your taste buds get use to having less sugar. It would really help you out if you did. Sparkling waters come in all sorts of flavors. Add lemon or lime slices. I like to add a small amount of fresh juice from my juicer. Hansons makes a diet soda with stevia. Go to the health food store and see what they have. I dont like the powdered sievia but I do use the liquid kind. Its not as bitter. Just remember to use very little. If you want a way to cheat, buy yourself a shot glass, make it small! every once in awhile hav a shot of something you cant live without. Dont do it often or it wont be a treat. My tastbuds dont reqire the sugar amount they once did. Do that and next time you try that coke you will say ugh!

i found a sparkling strawberry lemonade at wal mart that has no carbs and no sugar it has aspartame in it

alot of things are made with splenda these days which is made from sugar which diabetics can have why not try fresh brewed tea add ice and splenda to it and some lemons

I bought the Sugar Free Arizona Green Tea Stix with Ginseng just to try, and now can't do without at least 1 to 2 glasses a day. You just mix one stick with 16oz of water. You can adjust the amt of water also if you find it to be to sweet or not sweet enough. I think it taste great. The best thing is that there's no sugar,fat, or carbs.
