Hey there DC!
I have missed this site! So I was in the hospital for the past two weeks due to a complication with my medication.

My body did not handle the Metforman very well and started to completely shut down. The docotors told me that they had never seen someone react to this medication the way that I did… Lucky Me!

My blood sugar was 266 when I got to the hospital. I was unconsious, barely breathing. My husband was panicked. I spent two weeks being poked and xrayed and on a strict diet and insulin injections. My right lung colapsed, had surgery to remove part of my spleen, my appendix flared up so they took that out and are monitoring my kidneys and pancrease to make sure they are ok.

It been a very long two weeks, this is my first day home and I am so glad to be here.
Hope everyone is well!

Welcome back. Hospital stays can be brutal. Ive had too many myself. I also coundnt handle Metformin. I didnt have the reaction you did but after only 3 days I took myself off. I was told it would take time to get used to but I couldnt stand it. I called and said I wouldnt use it anymore and he changed it, thank heaven. Please take care

Oh wow… I'm sorry to hear that. I was lucky to be able to take the Met and so far so good… however, I am thinking about working out and trying to get off of it. I have already gotten my membership to the gym, but was in school and it was hard to find the time, now that it is summer break, I'm going to test myself and see what happens. I think it may be related to some mysterious lower back pain I have experienced a couple of times. I'm glad you are feeling better :) Sooo now… do you have to take insulin or did they try you on a different oral med (if you don't mind me asking).
