I have always believed education is the key to our survival as diabetics.
If we were not educated through reading research, trial and error,we may have fallen for what this person is selling.
But since we know better we do not have to listen to anything he says and we must not believe he knows of a cure for diabetes.

The only person I know of that got off all their diabetes medicine and resolved their type 2 was someone who had gastric bypass surgery. The day after surgery she was off all meds and has had very low sugars since surgery. But that is a little extreme for me.

Oh Ramesh,

As the daughter of an M.D., I frankly am appalled at your irresponsibility. How can you in good conscience encourage people to stop their medication?!! Do you not realize that encouraging people to stop their medication can have SERIOUS consequences like, um, gee DEATH?!!

Also, please do not make blanket statements concerning treatment of this very serious and complicated disease. Please follow the Hipocratic Oath and practice responsible medicine.

What can I add that the others have not already expressed so clearly…lol I agree with all the responses so far, however I will also say that yes, yoga is good for you. It does have many aspects that will help you cope with Diabetes, but in no way ahould it be considered a "cure all" for the problem. I want to thank everyone for adding their input, this is what makes this site so GREAT! All the participation, concern, and support from all the members is just what we need. John

Ramesh,
Oh, if it were only that simple! Wouldn't it be great if we could simply cut back on carbohydrates and learn new breathing techniques and be cured.

First, ALWAYS indicate which type of diabetes you're referring to. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease and certainly is more complex than simply a dependence on carbohydrates.

Type 2 is more diet and lifestyle related. However, as others have already pointed out, it is also not so simple. Often striking the obese, but not always.

So, we thank you for your desire to share things that you believe can help. But I encourage you to be more careful in your communication. And please speak in specific examples and not broad generalities. If you know someone who became non-diabetic, share their experience. But be careful about wild promises.

Finally, all attempts to use this site as a personal marketing tool will be deleted as it is a violation of the terms of this site.

Thank you.

Thank you John.
This quack made me so angry, I think I was spitting knickles. As if his yoga was a cure-all answer. Wouldn't that be nice! Diabetes has been in my family for ever. I have a cousin who died at 32 from complications of diabetes, AND SHE WAS NOT CARB ADDICTED either.
My personal opinion is that if it's in the family history, you're more likely to have diabetes. I AM obese and I do believe that if I could lose the weight I would feel better, but I DO NOT believe that the diabetes would go away even if I weighed 100 lbs. My brother is thin and he has it. I think that once you take insulin, type 1 or 2, you're doomed. Some day, I will have some kind of complication that will take me to my Maker, but I'll worry about that when it happens. For now, I take care of myself as best I can and hope for the best. To eliminate carbs totally is almost impossible. I am just careful not to over do it.

Hiyas!
My mother has always been a extreamly thin person all her life and 6 years ago she turned diabetic, I have always been a healthy person till we moved into a home that was full of mold and the owner would not fix the leaks.
last Nov I had a rough time breathing knew I would not live through the winter unless something was done, when I went into the doctor they found mold in every (orfis sorry spelling) they put me on steriods plus other drugs to keep me breathing till we got moved.
My doctor also had us contact the health dept because of the home.Att general and several other depts.

My doctor gave me a shot to reset my immune system and one of the drugs fliped me to diabetic.
I found out in Feb because my fingers were not healing, my skin was litterly pealing off my fingers from the allergy to the mold a red area would develope and skin would peal away, I used boxs of bandages, if i touched anything contaminated they got worse.

so when we moved we had to toss everything out and buy new furniture basically anything that was cloth based or wood that could carry mold spores.

Diabetic is not just a over weight issue it is where our bodys do not process the food and energy the way it should our cells are starving and if I understand what all I m finding out on the subject, there is no label and you cant tell who will develope and who wont.

My mother has COPD the drugs they gave her 6 years ago flipped her, but my brother his is more diet related plus family history.
We also use to be fast food eaters and heavy soda drinkers, now we are eating healthy, cooking at home everything we drink is water or sugar free.

You may have an MD after you name, but tons of other MD's have told us that carbohydrate will not GIVE you diabetes. Being fat does not help, I'll agree to that because the gland is smothered with the fat in your body, but eating carbohydrates or EATING SWEETS does not give you diabetes. I have known very fat people who DO NOT HAVE diabetes and I have seen (my brother for one) who is very thin, not an ounce of fat on him, who has diabetes. He does not eat sweets, nor does he indulge in carbohydrates. As a matter of fact, he eats very little for that matter. He's 6' and is very lean. So what's your explanation for that one Mr. MD?
