you sound like me. I am about the same height, maybe 5' 3" and I weigh 130. That is the right weight for me, I am very small boned. I went through two periods of times, where my diet did not change, I was eating a good amount of food, and yet I would lose a few lbs. I did not know why, and each time, I watched it, carefully, weighing a few times a week, and I just increased some carbs (some of which were not good for me, I don't advise that) and I was not sure what foods to increase, so I will read the other responses, if this happens to me again. But I have been where you are, just did not have quite that much to gain, I would lose like 4-6 lbs, over a month and a half or so. When I mentioned it on a doctor viist, about something else, she said, as long as it was stabilizing at that time (which it was by the time I got to see the doc) and it wasn't like 10 lbs in a month, she would not worry. I still have no idea why this sometimes happens, the first time I think was stress, but the second time, I do not know. I have acid relux, so when they put me on Nexium I noticed I gained it back after a short time. Good luck to you!!
Gee, wish I had this problem. I'm the other way. Nothing works for me to reduce the pounds. Try eating peatnut butter.
I am 5'8" and weigh 123. I am trying to gain weight as well. I don't know how to gain weight and follow an appropriate diabetic diet. Is there any (serious) help out there?

How much Alcohol sugar is in the candy ?
Gain muscle, mix your cardio and weight training. Also, drinking your calories, with protein shakes with added fruit. Don't replace your meals, drink in addition too, like a snack
Im liking the surger free candies omg they are good
I'm so stressed out about being thin. I'm adding on other medical issues. My dr say I'm fine.. Too me, I'm sickly looking… @@Steve, what is your fave sugar free ice cream? I never ever had sugar free..
I love Blue Bell sugar free ice cream. I don't make a habit of eating too much SF stuff, but once in a while it is great. I eat the vanilla, the chocolate, and our local store has the great divide, they call it, which is both mixed together. I wish they would come out with SF for all the rest of their flavors, they have great ice cream. I am not sure if Blue Bell is all over the country or just here in the South. We have a yogurt place in another town I visit at times, that has a good SF vanilla, and at this place, they have lots of healthy fresh fruit, walnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, to top it off with, to go alng with the bad stuff.
My favorite sugar-free ice cream is made by Breyers. Be careful of the sugar alcohols found in many sugar-free sweets. They may cause some strong gastric distress. I discovered this when first diagnosed and I ate lots of sugar-free candies…I developed some serious, stinky intestinal gas. Others report that it may cause diarrhea too.
I too have that problem of retaining or gaining a few pounds. At 5'9" and 145 lbs; I feel I am far too thin and along with the lack of weight comes a lack of strength. Dr. doesn't seem at all concerned about it; but I am.
Similarly, my Dr. doesn't seem too concerned. I saw him this morning. He said I wouldn't be able to get back my muscle mass. I am hovering around 125 on a 5'8" frame. My strength is good…gardening …lifting, shoveling, bending, carrying…I went from an XL to a medium and had to replace my clothing. Not pleased. May be put on insulin. Will that make a difference?
me too now i have to buy all new clothes cause everything is way too big on me :(
See above thread. Are you on insulin? Thank heavens for thrift shops! I am buying smaller clothes for each season.
Id love to gain some weight back too i lost too much when i got diabetes :( now i look like a crackhead
I look like one too..hahaha its so hard to keep the lbs on. I was mistaken for having an eating disorder.. :-(
yup me too and someone actually thought i was on drugs lol
Hahaha… All I can do is shake my head and laugh.
