What have you done to lose weight?

Its that time of the year again where people start putting on the lbs. and then they need to take them off.
How have you lost weight?
Looking for some good ways to lose weight.No one seems to be able to help me with this problem.So if I can not get any answers this time,I will go back to the way I did it last year and that means no carbs or sugar.

I am also disablied and don't drive so I walk a lot and that's where I get my main exercise though I am looking to implemente some new things in my life soon. I am new with the no carbs/less carbs thing…so Ty n I are both learning the cooking skills here, mainly him per say, he's the cook, lol Good luck! Sheila

Me, I tend to be a sampler when I am cooking. Its hard to loose weight when that is done. I have lost about 110 lbs (as per the last time I got on the scale) by cutting down carbs. I didnt cut them out completly. Just less carbs. White bread is no good for you. I learned to love a good leatuce wrap. Leattuce hold the fixins as well as bread. I also watch my portions (the hardest part). I do find that I am eating more but I am also eating on time. I used to not eat a sit down untill dinner. Before that, it was sampling and doing counter swipes behind my wifes back. Now I eat breakfast every day. I eat with wife every dinner. Lastly, I dont get on the scale. I dont want to know on a daily basis how much I weight. If I need to find out, I wait till my next doctor appointment. They will scale me. I found that If I were to scale everyday, I got depressed about my weight and when I was depressed, I ate. Hope these little tricks that work for me, can give you a few ideas to incorporate into your diet plan.

a lettuce wrap is easy. Think of it this way. Subsitute lettuce for bread. The main reason for bread is to hold the fixins. What would it be like if you took green leaf lettuce and put all your fixins in the lettuce and wrapped it up like a burrito? I had a nice pork hamburger without a bun for lunch yesterday. It tasted great. Had all my fixins in the sandwhich but no bun nor any bread. You do have to learn not to put hot food in lettuce. let it cool down a little before you put it in the lettuce. Its a low carb way of eating what eveyone else is eating. Some McDonals will make a burger for you without the bun. Just take in 2 leafs of lettuce (to keep your hands clean) and wrap that burger and eat. No reason why you should have to forgo your favortie fast foods if you can make it somewhat healthier and still eat it. As for a BLT? Just put in bacon and tomatoes, as your lettuce can and will hold the sandwich for you. Hope you try this and enjoy it as much as I have. O do tend to put in a little more meat in my sandwiches now. Oh well.

I lost weight by walking everyday and eating the right kinds of foods such as low fat food. I have a cookbook about low fat recipes that I would love to share with everyone but will have to get permission from the copyright owner of the book. I used to not have a car and I had to walk everywhere which included walking to the grocery store and to the post office and everywhere that I went. When I first went on disablity about 6 years ago my car got repossed because I could not make the payments and had to do without a vehicle for 5 months. Maybe you should try this and see if it works for you but get permission from your doctor before you do it.

Yes walking is the answer. I walk very slow and not long with help but I am walking and thats a great start for me. I don't want to call my eating style a diet anymore but a new healthy lifestyle on eating. It doesn't make me feel like I am dieting and thats a good thing…
