Being new to insulin 5 to 6 times a day…kinda puts a wrench in what I have to eat when Im at home…That and all the food allergies I have…

Going out to restaurants…thats different…not like FAST FOOD…I don't do those anymore…

But going to like Garcia's or Olive Garden…not all the time they have the carb count…the last time I went to Garcia's I had a been tostada..cause I looked it up on my ANDROID…The issue is…

A manager or staff should have no problem assisting or giving ideas or suggesting or whats the word…substituting for items you want on the menu…
I haven't ran into this yet…and Im sure I will one day…but they should understand…to a point that this is not an inconvienence(spelling) but a way of life I have to live…

Have any of you ran into this?

My husband and I have our favorite places to eat. When you go to the same places you get to know the people who work there and when you build a relationship you get more help. Most places post their menus online. You can see what they serve before you get there. Also make a simple phone call and ask before you go. Not everyone is educated in this way of eating. You pretty much have to train them. Which gets easier when you go more often.

We went to applebee's…and I know what to order there…a chicken wrap …without the pico de gallo…or the quesidilla burger…its in a tortilla which is 20 grams of carbs…so all of it total is 35 to 40 carbs the whole meal and I dont do desert

If you want to be really safe, stay away from white carbs, eat more vegetables and protein. I don't know exactly what your allergic to. Or eat a little of everything. Measure it out.
