Daisy cottage cheese, since it is only skim milk, cream, and salt; then I'll toss in some diced peaches or pears for a snack. Or eat with some nuts for a quick meal.
Salads, with lots of veggies, sunflower seeds, cheese, and some chicken, or hard boiled eggs.
Chicken salad: diced chicken, celery, apples, walnuts, and yogurt for the dressing.
My main at work meal is local yogurt with milk and millk products, blueberries, cane sugar, honey, pectins, L Acidophilus, Bifidus and L Casei. It's better tasting than ice cream. Some nights I pop it in the freezer for a bit so it just starts to form ice crystals. A decadent healthy meal that makes me think I'm cheating when I'm not.

Being that there are just 2 of us in my house, I usually make good meals for four and freeze portions for upcoming meals. Chicken goes far so when I grill, I grill ALOT, I shred some, chop some others, etc to use in other recipes therefore skipping the "processed" part of most foods. It takes time and adjustments but you will do it! Hope this helps you :) *Hugs* Cheryl

All you have to do is take it out and eat more fresh foods like veggies and fruit. I still buy hotdogs because on a hot summer day all I might want to eat is a hot dog. If you eat at restaurants, especially fast food places, and other chain restaurants much of what they serve is processed foods.

I eat a lot of berries and grapes. I'm a snacker. I ate and tested and found they don't affect my BG much. Veggies too. They are way more work for me. Lol. I like fruit better.

PS. I have to stay away from bananas. They make my BG rise too much. In heaven, I'm having them for breakfast on my cereal. Lol.

So what makes your BS rise so much with bananas. The carbs in bananas should have the same affect on you as any other carb.
So why don't berries and grapes affect you, they have plenty of carbs ?

Lots and lots of vegetables. There are so many ways to make them, raw, bbq, stir fry… You get used to it and can add low or no sugar and low carb sauces. It takes a little time and practice.
