Eat moderately. I know its hard.

For Breakfast try eating lower carb meals. such as oatmeal an english muffin with eggs? fruit?

Lunch maybe a salad or wrap.

Out for dinner go for a grilled chicken or fish dish with veggies and maybe a baked potato instead of fries. instead of soda opt for water with lemon or unsweetned ice tea. Snacking maybe get some fruit? crackers and cheese? depends what you like. eat what you like but cut the portion in half. That always works for me. hope this helped.

There are no special foods for Diabetes. Of course stay away from bread and cookies/cake. Grab a slimfast off the shelf. Share a plate a food with someone. Don't drink soda. Ice tea or water is the best. Soda has lots of hidden sugards.

Kathey,No such thing as diabetic foods…just good choices. My husband and I go to Vegas 2-3 times a year and I have been diabetic for 23 years. It's all about choices, make the right ones and you'll be fine, just as being anywhere else. It is a way of life…not a specific diet. Go…enjoy and let me know how you did. Where are you staying?

Hi Kathy,

I have had Diabetes probably a long time before they finally figured it out. You are absolutely right, there is no special foods. Just eat sensible and grab a Slimfast with 2 carbs if you are in a rush.

Also stop in at the Hilton off the strip and see a wonderful show Music and Passion with Barry Manilow

Diabetic foods? There is no such thing really is there?. If you eat a diet rich in a variety of vegetables, fruits, lean meats, whole grains and dairy you should be fine. I've been to Vegas and most of the buffets have all of those things. You just have to have self control at the buffet so you don't overeat or eat the wrong things. Load up at the salad bar where the real, fresher food is. I'm a firm believer in 'whole foods'… in their most natural state.
Good luck and have fun!!

Exactly what I said, but my post never made it to the board. If you have no time, get a case of Slimfast with 2 carbs. Eat a lot for breakfast as that is the most important meal of the day. Share a plate of food with someone.
